Saddest Kpop Songs and Music Videos

Most people probably think that the entire kpop genre is made up of songs like Gangnam Style, Gee, Electric Shock, etc. but they are very, very wrong. Here's a few of the saddest kpop songs I've ever listened to.

It gets even sadder when you find out that Jaejoong wrote this for his friend Park Yonghwa who committed suicide in 2010.

Big Bang - Haru Haru

I start crying as soon as the piano starts playing.

Vixx - Error
Being a cyborg is not as easy as it seems. Here's how I interpreted the music video:
Hongbin's girlfriend died a while ago. When she died, he kept trying to find a way to bring her back, and he would do whatever he could to bring her back. Eventually, he made a cyborg. It looks exactly like her, he's reminded of the past. He implants all of their memories together into this cyborg, so the cyborg can be just like her. He finally got her back. The government finds out. She's apparently not a legal cyborg. They were going to get rid of her again. Hongbin dismantled both himself and her (apparently he's a cyborg too) so they could still be together.

SHINee- Symptoms

Not sad in a "holy shit EVERYONE IS DYING" kind of way like the others. There's no music video for this one, yet you can still capture all of the feelings.

SHINee - Selene 6.23

This one also doesn't have a music video. It's a slow ballad and i just. it hurts.

BTOB - Way Back Home
It's a song about never giving up no matter how hard it gets. The music video is sad as heck. 8 minutes of suffering. I cried when the teasers came out. I'm not okay.

VIXX - I Don't Want To Be An Idol

Leo and Ken's vocals made this song truly give off a sad vibe. It's about not wanting to be an idol because you're too busy, you're not allowed to date as openly as before. He wants to show them that he still loves them, even though he might not have enough time to prove it to them anymore.

FTISLAND - Severely

Do I really need to say anything else?

BTS - I Need U
I know everyone is still working out their theories about this music video so I'm just going to give you the basic plot. They're all ruining themselves. It starts out happy and then suddenly everyone is dying and sad and holy crap. Watch the Prologue and Run too.

SPEED - That's My Fault

I'm pretty sure(?) that this is about the Gwangju Uprising
"During this period, Gwangju citizens took up arms (by robbing local armories and police stations) when local Jeonnam University students - who were demonstrating against the Chun Doo-hwan government - were fired upon, killed, and beaten in an unprecedented attack by government troops" - Wikipedia
I only cried a little. (maybe a little more than a little)

SPEED - It's Over
SPEED DID IT AGAIN

YONGGUK FT. DAEHYUN - I Remember

Yoseob did the original vocals for this but Daehyun slayed it. You can feel so much emotion in Daehyun's singing. If you've got a soft spot for rock songs, you'll probably enjoy the chorus. The lyrics in this song are amazing.

TEEN TOP - Missing

L.Joe appears to like this girl, C.A.P's girlfriend. C.A.P is dying from an illness and doesn't know what to tell her. He goes "missing" (ba dum tsss) near his death date. L.Joe knows where he is. He keeps hitting on the door, trying to get C.A.P to open it. C.A.P dies alone, that was his wish. L.Joe goes to comfort her, they cry, and they end up kissing. There's a bit more to it but I couldn't find a post with the full story.

INFINITE - BTD

I think I prefer the "OH MY GOD EVERYONE IS DYING" sad music videos. Woohyun and Myungsoo have until dawn to escape from this chamber thing. The catch is, only one of them can escape and there's a super tall scary guard. Woohyun and Myungsoo fight, trying to kill eachother because well, only one of them will be able to leave. After a lot of fighting, they realize that they can both escape if they kill the guard. They come up with a plan and charge at him, about to kill him. They chase him with this stick thing to the entrance before they realize. The sun is out now. Their time is up.

JUNG YONGHWA - Because I Miss You

Yonghwa can make any song sound sad. There's so much emotion in this, true, real, emotion.

BTS - Butterfly

"I could lose you, I'm afraid, afraid, afraid"

JIN - Gone

Abuse, friendship, medication, and death. He has heart problems and she's blind. Their friendship is so cute. It hurts.

HUH GAK- Hello

good times

HUH GAK - I Told You I Want to Die

not good times. part 2 of hello. be prepared to cry

THE ARK -  The Light
keep tissues nearby. you'll need them. trust me

LADIES' CODE - I'm Fine Thank You
R.I.P EunB and RiSe

nothing will ever be sadder than that last one. this is the end of my list.. for now

Kpoptown or Ktown4u?

Kpoptown vs Ktown4u
I have ordered from Kpoptown multiple times and I just recently bought 2 items from Ktown4u. Which one did I prefer? Let's find out.
Kpoptown
Kpoptown was the first website I bought kpop cds from. I had checked various sources and lots of people said that Kpoptown was a good website to use. My issue with Kpoptown is that they don't bubble wrap stuff well. If you buy 1 or 2 items they put it in this bubble wrap envelope, which is very eh. If you buy more, they put it in a cardboard box and barely bubble wrap it. They have 2 shipping options, express shipping and small packet. The small packet shipping takes 10-30 days to arrive and tracking is impossible. EMS shipping is way more expensive than small packet shipping and tracking is possible and it only takes 3-7 days to arrive. Kpoptown occasionally has signed cds for sale if you don't like using Mwave but they tend to be more expensive on Kpoptown. I spent $100 total on signed copies of BTOB - Complete, and Teen Top - Natural Born (Passion & Dream) which is okay, but they took well over a month to arrive. Not to mention that my copy of BTOB - Complete is damaged at the corners and on the removable piece of paper that holds everything together. ~
Ktown4u
I recently used Ktown4u and I have no regrets. I bought BTOB - I Mean and the Limited Edition Infinite Be Back Vinyl LP and some free posters in a poster tube. Ktown4u is really easy to contact and they are very helpful. My package couldn't be shipped because the poster tube needed to be in a box so I emailed them and asked them what to do and they asked me to pay extra for shipping but they shipped it immediately after I paid them. It arrived in 6 days. That is extremely fast. That is the speed that Kpoptown EMS shipping can take to arrive. Ktown4u EMS shipping takes 2-4 days to arrive while Kpoptown EMS shipping takes 3-7 days to arrive. Kpoptown can also potentially take around 4 days to ship an album that was just released while Ktown4u ships it on either the day it was released or the day after it was released. Their shipping options are Non-Registered small packet (air), Registered small packet (air), Parcel POST (air), EMS, and EMS Premium (UPS). Registered small packet is usually about $2 more than Non-Registered small packet, depending on the amount of stuff you're getting. I would recommend choosing Registered small packet or Parcel POST since both of them are trackable and not overwhelmingly expensive. Right now, I have both versions of VIXX - Chained Up in my Ktown4u cart and Registered small packet costs $16.42 and Parcel POST costs $24.67. If you're willing to pay a mere $6 extra, I would definitely recommend choosing Parcel POST as it is very convenient and if you're impatient like me, it will arrive at least 1 day sooner than Registered small packet. All of their shipping options are via air and that is so convenient because it arrives a whole lot sooner and it makes me feel less stressed. All of their posters are free with the album, if you want a poster tube it costs an extra dollar or so but they put all of the posters you order into the poster tube. Ktown4u is usually the cheapest option and they are without a doubt the most convenient option.
So, as you can probably tell, I chose Ktown4u. None of the albums I have purchased from Ktown4u have arrived damaged and they all arrived fast and Ktown4u is overall the better option.

Kpoptown Review

I buy a lot of kpop cds from many different places. Among those places, one of them is Kpoptown. I have bought 6 albums from Kpoptown so far; Natural Born Teen Top (autographed Passion & Dream versions), Infinite Reality limited edition, Infinite One Great Step Returns, BTOB Complete, and SHINee Odd. Most of these albums are slightly dented except for Odd and the limited edition version of Reality. I'm pretty sure that most people's copies of Natural Born have a slight dent on the spine on the inside because the packaging is a little weird. Back in July I ordered an autographed copy of BTOB Complete. This album is gigantic. It's bent a little in a few of the corners though and some of the signatures are a little bit smudged, not super smudged though, it's very readable still. It took a month to arrive since it's an autographed cd and they even said that it would take kinda long. I was kinda disappointed when I saw it since it was a bit bent but it was signed by the entire group and it's such a pretty album that I can't really complain. I ordered it with the Passion version of Teen Top Natural born and somehow, I guess the BTOB album helped the Teen Top album avoid getting bent because that album is in great condition.
Albums from Kpoptown usually take around 10 days to arrive at my house, I live on the west coast so the shipping isn't exactly super fast but it's definitely not slow. When I ordered Infinite - Reality limited edition I had preordered it and it came with these freebie cards from Season 2 and they're really nice cards. It also came with a folded poster on the inside and apparently I ordered an unfolded poster with it because 2 days later, this poster tube came in the mail and here it was, a beautiful Infinite poster.
It's about 2 1/2 feet long and 2 feet tall and it is so pretty.
Shipping from Kpoptown isn't exactly super cheap. It could be more expensive, but it is definitely not cheap. Shipping costed around $25 when I bought Reality and Natural Born. It was around $5-$9 when I bought Odd. As I mentioned before, It's also not exactly fast. The unregistered shipping says it takes around 10-30 days for me. For items that weren't preorder items it took 10 days one time and 13 days the other time. Kpoptown tends to have cds up for preorder on their site earlier than any other site though and that is quite nice.

This is a picture of all of the items I have bought from Kpoptown so far. I don't regret buying any of these, I listen to all of the albums quite often and that Infinite dvd is amazing. Myungsoo's hair was beautiful back then and THE PHOTOBOOK IS GREAT. It's not a gigantic photobook but it is full of high quality pictures of all of the members and for the most part, the entire page is used. You heard me right. The entire page. There are some pages with a white border but they arent gigantic borders, maybe 1.5-2cm wide. These photos are so hd it's scary. If you're thinking about getting this, I would highly recommend it. It includes a ton of their best songs before Season 2 - and some songs from Season 2 that were like sneak previews. It was great. The Woohyun solo was amazing. It also includes 'One Great Step Returns making film' and a video of the members playing a game that I have forgotten the name of.
Anyway, Kpoptown is cool, none of my items have arrived severely damaged and none of them were outrageously expensive. 8/10 would recommend.
